The Nitty-Gritty on Heat
We build these lamps to fit the SFR 12 footprint perfectly, matching the voltage and wattage exactly. We use high-wattage shortwave lamps because they push energy into a tight spectrum. What does that mean for you? The heat sinks into the PET wall much faster. You don’t have to let the preforms linger in the oven as long. The Build Quality
We use heavy-wall quartz glass. Why? Because these things go through rapid heating and cooling cycles, and cheap glass just can’t handle that kind of thermal shock. Plus, we fill them with halogen gas to keep the filaments from burning out too quickly. We also stick to R7s or SK15 connectors for a snug fit. A loose connection is a nightmare—it creates an arc, and before you know it, your housing is melting. Some of our lamps even have a special coating. It bounces the heat back toward the preform instead of letting it bleed out into the machine frame. Less waste, more efficiency.
