
Getting Your Heat Profiles Right: SIPA SFR 16 and Sidel Matrix Lamps
If you’ve spent any time with PET blowing machines, you know the headache of trying to keep heat profiles consistent across different generations of gear. It’s a pain. That’s why we built our replacement lamps for the SIPA SFR 16 and Sidel lines—basically to bridge that awkward gap between the old-school SBO setups and the newer Matrix series. The fit matters. Here is the thing: with these machines, every single millimeter counts. If the lamp length is off or the end-caps don’t seat perfectly, you’re looking at uneven heating or, worse, a quartz tube that snaps under pressure during install. We made these to be true drop-in replacements. No tinkering. No modifying your reflectors. No rewiring your controllers. You just put them in, and they work. Talking tech (without the fluff) We use high-purity quartz because these lamps take a beating. The rapid cycling creates a lot of thermal shock, and cheap glass just won’t cut it. These are short-wave infrared emitters. Instead of heating up the air around the preform, they push the heat directly into the plastic. We’ve tuned the coating specifically so your PET hits that glass transition temperature perfectly—without scorching the surface. A few tips for the install We spent a lot of time on the connection points. Why? Because high current can burn things out fast. We ensured the socket tension is just right to stop arcing before it starts. You can swap these into any Sidel-compatible oven and get back to work without wasting hours on adjustments. But, a quick heads-up: high-wattage lamps put more stress on your cooling fans. If your vents are clogged with dust or gunk, these lamps are going to run too hot and burn out way faster than they should. Do yourself a favor—check your airflow before you pop in a full set of new tubes. Your equipment will thank you.
