The best part about short-wave lamps is that they don’t need to “warm up.” You don’t have to wait for oil to heat up or a fan to kick in. We tune the wattage so the heat is dense and concentrated. You get a localized warm zone that hits you immediately. It’s fast. Really fast.
A Few Things to Watch Out For
Placement is everything here. We usually mount these on the wall or ceiling to get the best spread, but you have to nail the height. If they’re too low, it feels like you’re standing too close to a campfire—it’s uncomfortable. Too high, and you lose that instant “hug” of warmth. There’s a sweet spot, and finding it is key. On the electrical side, you’ll need a dedicated GFCI breaker since we’re dealing with water. These units pull a decent amount of power to get that rapid heat, so make sure your wire gauge is beefy enough. If you’re running a lot of them and your electrical panel is feeling the squeeze, just stagger when they turn on. That way, you won’t trip the main breaker the moment everyone walks in.
